Phoenix VA Health Care System Thunderbird CBOC is a medical and behavioral healthcare provider for Veterans. Located in Phoenix, Arizona, drug and alcohol rehab programs include dual diagnosis mental health and addiction treatment programs, outpatient treatment, medication assisted treatment (MAT), counseling, optometry, and aftercare.

Phoenix VA Health Care System serves the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers by providing a full continuum of care for behavioral and medical care on an outpatient basis. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7.30am to 4pm. The center provides a mental health assessment, individualized treatment plan, individual and group therapy, family therapy, and medication (where appropriate), and optometry. Some of the evidence based therapies include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and MAT. MAT involves the use of FDA approved medications and behavioral therapy for the treatment of opioid use disorders. No referrals are required but veterans and their families must first book an appointment to receive care.

Phoenix VA Health Care System Thunderbird CBOC is accredited by the Joint Commission and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Programs are available to adult Veterans and active duty personnel. Private pay, military insurance, Medicare, and private insurance plans are accepted.
