About TidalHealth Peninsula Regional

Located in Salisbury, Maryland, TidalHealth is a behavioral health center that also has addiction services designed to help children and adults recovering from mental health issues or substance misuse conditions. I like how they treat children starting from the age of five, and their services include individual and family therapy, medication management, psychiatric evaluations, and transcranial magnetic stimulation. This last one is something I don't see often, so it's really exciting that they include it as well.

Helps for Kids

For children and adolescents, you can receive behavioral health care specifically geared toward your needs. They offer peer support and brief crisis counseling, which is short-term therapy to stabilize you during an acute situation. Their care coordination can connect you with any follow-up care and community services that might be necessary or beneficial.

They also offer family counseling, which I think is very important and can play a huge role in your recovery when you feel that your family is aligned with your needs and goals.

Intense Treatments Readily Available

If you need something a bit more intensive, they offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) that still allows you to go home at the end of the day but requires a greater commitment and more hours of participation in the program.

Outpatient Rehab

Outpatient rehab in Maryland is best suited for those who are coping well in recovery but need ongoing treatment. This level of rehab offers accountability and support through regular therapy sessions and support group meetings. It may last for weeks or months, based on your ongoing recovery needs.

If you have both a mental health and substance use disorder, these cannot be treated independently. They interact, so the treatment must be integrated. Dual diagnosis treatment in Maryland is designed to treat both co-occurring disorders.
