Oxford House operates a widespread network of safe and supportive housing for individuals in substance use recovery. Indy House is located in Indianapolis, Indiana, and caters to women who want to be free of the burden of addiction and achieve long-term recovery. It’s in a nondescript house in a semi-suburban and wooded area.

Put in the simplest terms, Oxford House is a democratically run, self-supporting, and drug-free home, where those recovering from substance use disorder take ownership of their sobriety in a safe and supportive environment. Each Oxford House is fully furnished and includes all the amenities, such as fully equipped bathrooms and kitchens, to ensure a comfortable stay in an environment that is truly home from home.

Oxford House alumni, who have been previous residents and excelled in the program, offer continuing fellowship and support to each other. They meet on the first Sunday of each month to share recovery experiences and struggles to help maintain their long-term sobriety.

The nearby Camp Brook offers a calming and relaxing environment for residents to consider their recovery as they walk along the serene waterway. Several churches are nearby, where clients can seek spiritual support or sit in quiet contemplation. Plus, just a short walk away there are a whole host of eateries, with many offering healthy and nutritional meals to nourish the body and show clients how great sober activities can be.
