About Oxford House Catalyst Montgomery

Oxford Houses are self-run sober houses managed by their residents. One Oxford House is a men’s home called Catalyst and is located in Montgomery, Alabama. Residents apply to live at the home they prefer and are interviewed by the current residents. Oxford Houses are a low-cost and effective way to prevent relapse.

Each house will vote on and set their own rules. Generally, these have to do with chores and visitors and communal living spaces. You can work, volunteer or go to school while living at an Oxford House. You’ll be fully integrated in the real world and will live in a regular neighborhood. Yet, you’ll be able to avoid triggers by living in a space that is completely sober. Often, AA meetings are held at these homes.

You’ll be responsible for your portion of the rent which is generally much lower than the average cost. You’ll also be responsible for your own food and transportation. Representatives of Oxford Houses in a given radius will meet together to solve issues and discuss important topics.
