About Overlake Hospital Medical Center – Behavioral Medicine

Overlake Hospital Medical Center's Behavioral Medicine program is a hospital-based mental and behavioral health service in Bellevue, Washington, serving adults with psychiatric and co-occurring substance use needs.

The program offers partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient psychiatry services led by board-certified psychiatrists alongside nurses, social workers and clinical support staff.

Embedded within a nonprofit medical center, I've found that Overlake delivers personalized, multidisciplinary care that helps patients stabilize while staying connected to work, school and family life.

Flexible Hospital-Based Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders

Overlake's Behavioral Medicine team specializes in treating co-occurring mental health conditions and substance use disorder for adults, young adults and seniors.

Care begins with a thorough assessment of psychiatric and addiction needs, with board-certified psychiatric oversight guiding each individualized treatment plan.

Treatment integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, medication management, group and individual psychotherapy and case management.

I've learned that The Adult Partial Hospitalization Program provides intensive structure, while the intensive outpatient track offers up to six hours of daily treatment for up to 10 days, supporting recovery without fully removing patients from daily responsibilities.

Whole-Person Psychiatric Support

Beyond core therapy, Overlake offers physical activity therapy, suicide prevention services, nicotine replacement, tobacco screening and a special program for individuals with serious mental illness.

Family involvement and coordination with outpatient providers, schools and community groups help reinforce progress beyond the clinical setting.

Access and Getting Started

The program is located on Overlake's main hospital campus in Bellevue, with convenient parking garages, valet service and a smoke-free environment serving Eastside communities in person.

Overlake contracts with commercial insurance, Medicare, Apple Health and government plans, and offers zero-interest payment plans and financial counseling.
