About Reach for Recovery

Reach for Recovery, formerly Ottagan Addictions Recovery, is a nonprofit organization in Holland, Michigan, that helps individuals struggling with substance use disorder. They offer non-intensive and intensive outpatient services, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and recovery coaches.

The facility accepts Medicare, Medicaid, self pay and most commercial health insurance plans. I also noticed that they allow qualifying individuals to pay for services on a sliding scale.

Individuals who participate in MAT receive FDA-approved medications combined with behavioral therapies. I think this treatment is ideal for clients who are struggling with an opioid addiction.

The intensive outpatient program is provided multiple days a week and is ideal for clients who have severe addictions. You’ll receive education on addiction and relapse prevention skills along with a personal recovery plan developed by the staff. Clients will engage in several hours of individual and group counseling sessions. The counselor will use evidence based practices such as cognitive (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).

Holland is right by Lake Macatawa, where you can spend a fun day doing water activities after your treatment sessions. Smallenburg Park is a couple of blocks away. The town is also not far from Grand Rapids, Michigan, where the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum is located.

As you go through recovery, peer recovery coaches are ready to give you support and help you stay committed to your treatment goals. Peer coaches can also connect you with community resources and collaborate with other professionals involved with your care.

One thing I really like about this organization is they provide residential treatment for mothers at a separate location called the Harbor House. They accept mothers with infants up to 12 months old. Clients receive childcare services while in treatment sessions, as well as health services for both the mother and the child.
