About Sheppard Pratt — Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day Program – Glen Burnie

Formerly known as the Omni House Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, the Sheppard Pratt Psychiatric Rehabilitation Day program in Glen Burnie, Maryland is an intensive recovery service for adults with serious mental illness. Clients get individualized services to help them reach their goals while improving their coping strategies, independent living and social skills. They offer primary care support to folks with a mental illness or substance abuse disorder. This psychiatric rehab program is accredited by CARF.

Each client will have a personalized assessment and rehab planning. Treatment includes a focus on peer support, symptom management medication monitoring (if needed) and recreational and social activities. You'll attend the program during the day and return home in the evening. You'll be able to get hands-on practice at home with the skills you're learning in the program.

Throughout this program you'll learn how to improve your health and lifestyle. You'll get substance abuse education and support and therapeutic activities like art therapy, exercise, computer training and independent living skills. They also offer smoking cessation, chronic illness management and illness prevention education.

You'll also have access to individual therapy that will help you better understand addiction as an illness.

You'll learn practical skills as well like money management, healthy meal preparation, locating and maintaining housing and Vocational services for those who want to join the workforce. you'll have a dedicated manager that can help coordinate support services from other agencies as well as clinical services.

Payment is accepted through private insurance, Medicaid and Medicare. Glen Burnie staff include mental health workers, occupational therapists, rehab specialists, licensed social workers and more. They'll work together to address your physical, social and behavioral needs. If you choose, you can join in on therapeutic recreational activities that take place off site.
