About Oesterlen-Services For Youth

Oesterlen Services for Youth is an organization in Springfield, Ohio. In the fall of 2024, they transferred their youth treatment services to Buckeye Ranch, and Oesterlen is now focused on providing grants as the Oesterlen Foundation.

Oesterlen Services for Youth was founded in 1903 and provided treatment for youth mental health, substance use, and behavioral health.

Residential Treatment by Oesterlen in Springfield

When Oesterlen was providing services, they provided a residential program for youths and adolescents. The services included individual and group counseling, crisis support, and psychiatric assessments and services.

They also provided foster care services along with community based education and preventive programs in schools and colleges.

Today’s Residential and Outpatient Care From Buckeye Ranch

Today, youth ages five to 18 can get a variety of services from Buckeye Ranch. They help youth with substance use and mental health concerns. Residential services are available in Grove City and include schooling, art and adventure therapies, and animal assisted therapy.

Outpatient treatment is available through community-based care. The Intensive Home Based Therapy provides three to five hours of treatment each week for up to six months, with a goal of avoiding out of home placement. There’s also a program for integrated co-occurring treatment for youth ages 12 to 17.5.
