About Oaklawn Psychiatric Center Goshen Campus

Oaklawn is a faith-based organization that provides mental health programs in Elkhart and St Joseph counties in Indiana. Their Goshen location offers substance abuse treatment for adults and adolescents. Clients can get group therapy and medication assisted treatment. Oaklawn takes insurance coverage as payment and also has a sliding fee scale to make treatment possible for every client.

The adult program runs groups that help clients become empowered to make healthy changes for themselves and their families. They’ll learn recovery skills, how to improve communication and relationships and set goals. They also have specific men and women’s aftercare. MAT makes use of specialized medication to combat addiction cravings and withdrawal symptoms. This method is effective for opioid users.

My favorite offering by Oaklawn is Camp Mariposa. This free camp is for youth who have experienced substance abuse in their families. This overnight camp is for kids 9-12 or 13-17. Campers will learn how to break the cycle of addiction while also participating in the usual fun, camp activities. Adolescents are encouraged to attend the camp multiple times.
