About Northpointe Council The First Step Center

Based in Niagara Falls, New York State, Northpointe Council’s The First Step Center is a residential facility for substance abuse. Care is available to adults aged 18 and older, from all walks of life.

This facility with 24 beds offers round-the-clock care to individuals struggling with addiction. This might look like supporting clients in the earlier stages with medical or non-medical detox, as well as medication management, and methadone maintenance. Individual, group, family, and couples counseling is also provided.

For those with legal issues who may have been convicted of DUI or DWI, their Impaired Driver Program or IDP can help. It offers education, as well as tools for self-assessment. Early intervention services are also available, along with further evaluation, treatment, and referrals. IDP takes place with the support of the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles.

In terms of what former clients are saying, reviews are mixed. More recent reviews, however, tend to skew more negative. One former client goes as far as to say they think the facility should be shut down.
