About North Star Palmer Residential Treatment Center
Located in Palmer, Alaska, North Star Palmer Residential is a psychiatric treatment program for young boys ages 11 to 18. If dual diagnosis or addiction is a primary concern, a referral may need to be made to a drug rehab treatment center.
In treatment, clients will participate in individual therapy, family therapy, and trauma informed therapy. Evidence based treatment programming is provided, including cognitive behavioral therapy. Clients will participate in aggression replacement training, sensory integration, solution focused therapy, biofeedback, and wilderness therapy. Conflict resolution, basic life skills, communication skills, and relationship skills are implemented into regular classes that help individuals develop a foundation that will support them outside of treatment. Upon completion of the program, clients may choose to continue treatment on an outpatient basis. This may include therapy, psychiatric care, group therapy, self help groups, and more. Clients are encouraged to take part in their treatment and focus on their strengths.
