About NFI Family Resource Center of Greater Lowell
The NFI Family Resource Center of Greater Lowell in Lowell, Massachusetts, provides services to children, teenagers, adults, veterans and families who are struggling with the effects of mental health conditions and substance use disorders. Their mission is to provide a safe and comfortable setting for individuals from all walks of life to grow, heal and recover.
Their structured outpatient addiction program (SOAP) provides treatment and supportive services for adults. The program is available from nine am until four pm, Monday through Friday. This gives you a chance to put your recovery first and heal while still being able to go home to your loved ones afterwards.
A comprehensive assessment will be completed during the intake process. This is where your strengths, weaknesses, past and current situation will be discussed. A therapist will follow up with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. This is similar to a road map. It provides an understanding of what to expect during treatment and what your weekly schedule will look like.
Both individual counseling and group therapy can be part of your weekly schedule. During therapy sessions staff can incorporate evidence based approaches to help you learn how to regulate heightened emotions, develop life skills and develop coping skills. This can help you improve your communication skills and mend your relationships with your loved ones.
Case management gives extra support and will be available throughout the time you’re in treatment. Case managers will be monitoring your treatment progress, can provide advocacy, and will help hold you accountable. Other services include medication assisted treatment (MAT), toxicology screenings, aftercare planning and aftercare outreach support. Their family services can help you improve your parenting skills. Services include nurturing families through recovery classes, active parenting classes and nurturing fathers classes.
