About Nexus Youth and Families – Closed

Nexus Youth and Families Behavioral Health Services in Auburn, Washington is now permanently closed. They were a nonprofit that offered outpatient treatment for youths from ages 12 to 19. I was impressed by their focus on treating families while offering individual counseling. They provided school and court ordered services and offered drug screenings.

Bilingual Counseling for Homeless And Runaway Youth

Bilingual services were available for Spanish speaking families and their diverse therapies were tailored for homeless and runaway youth as well. Their comprehensive approach stood out to me, and they offered services not only in their agency locations but also in schools and clients’ homes.

A sliding fee scale was available to individuals with no insurance so that treatment was affordable based on their income.

Safe Shelter for Young Adults in Need

Arcadia House was Nexus’ coed shelter for young adults aged 18 to 24. They provided safe beds along with showers and snacks. It was a drop in center that assisted with basic needs, referrals and case management in collaboration with the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

Connect with Nature in the White River Valley

The facility was located in the city of Auburn which offers an eclectic mix of cultural and natural attractions. For entertainment, those in town for recovery could visit the White River Amphitheatre and Emerald Downs for horse racing.

Les Gove Park also offers walking trails and green spaces for relaxing outdoors. The Outlet Collection Seattle is available for shopping needs while The White River Valley Museum highlights regional history.
