Soroptimist House of Hope, a six-bed residential program that provides free rehab for women recovering from drug and alcohol addiction, is expanding after receiving a $5.2 million grant to build a larger facility nearby.
Executive Director Nicole Yingling said the program offers therapy, substance use counseling, parenting classes, job readiness support, and help accessing medical and dental care, all at no cost to the women who live there.
Who Qualifies for Free or Low-Cost Treatment
Women with Medi-Cal can request placement at the facility by calling the 1-800-SU-CARES line for an assessment.
That single call is the entry point into the program’s free rehab services, no upfront payment or private insurance required.
The current six-bed home is set to become a detox center once the new facility opens, meaning the nonprofit will soon offer both free detox and free residential treatment under one roof.
The new location, a 4.75-acre property in Sky Valley, will hold 14 beds, more than doubling capacity for women seeking free rehab in the region.

The program is also built around keeping families together, not just treating addiction in isolation.
Staff coordinate supervised visits between mothers and their children and work directly with Child Protective Services to support reunification, addressing one of the most common reasons parents delay seeking treatment: fear of losing custody.
Yingling’s message to anyone struggling with addiction is direct: help is available, recovery is possible, and there is hope.
