About New House III
Located in Santa Barbara, California, New House is a structured sober living facility for men. New House takes referrals from detox, drug and alcohol rehab, employee assistance programs, family members, and criminal justice agencies. However, they will accept any applicant who is in recovery and needs a supportive community to maintain their sobriety.
New House is staffed by clients with lived experience of overcoming addiction. Their program provides regular onsite 12 step meetings, community, sponsorship, and accountability. Participants may be required to take a drug test for admission and will have to share housekeeping chores. Amenities include three nutritious meals per day, well-maintained accommodations, comfortable rooms, lounge areas with cable and TVs, bagged lunches if the resident is working, high speed internet, employment resources, social service and legal assistance, as well as support or scholarships for dental care.
Many residents living at New House also attend day treatment programs and after six months of sobriety, participants may apply for admission into the graduate house, which offers more independence and transitional support for returning home.
All clients are required to pay resident fees of $34 per day. However, lack of funds is not a barrier to admission as scholarships and grants are available.
