What To Expect During Intake
You will first need to contact their intake department over the phone. Their intake coordinator will obtain your general information. Once they have the information needed, they will schedule your in-person appointment to complete your screening.
When you arrive at the center, your first step in entering treatment will be the intake completion. You will answer questions regarding your substance use, behavioral health and medical concerns. With this information their staff will be able to better understand your needs and strengths in order to develop a success treatment plan.
The entire process will take about three hours. Before you leave you will take a urine drug test and will be tested for tuberculosis. This is one of their requirements, and you will not be allowed into their outpatient program without these tests.
Life Skills Development
Aside from their holistic and mindfulness approach, a huge emphasis is placed on life skills development. A lot of times, when in addiction, you neglect your daily responsibilities. With life skills therapy, you will relearn the skills needed to be successful in your recovery after treatment.
You’ll learn personal skills such as doing laundry, proper hygiene, and grocery shopping for nutritious food which results in cooking healthy meals. You will also learn how to budget your finances.
By learning social skills, you will be able to build up your self esteem and regulate your emotions. You’ll also be able to improve how you resolve conflicts and manage stress without the use of substances.
You will also develop professional skills. They will help you search for work and develop a winning resume. You’ll learn time management, problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
