About New Concepts

New Concepts, in Toledo, Ohio, is an outpatient substance use and mental health counseling center. They're CARF accredited and have staff with Bachelor, Master, and Doctorate levels of education. They believe that clients should get the least intensive level of care to meet their needs. With that in mind, they provide assessment, individual treatment planning, individual, group and family counseling, crisis intervention and case management.

They offer three levels of care including intensive outpatient, non intensive outpatient, and medication assisted treatment programs. Their IOP is for adults who have moderate or severe substance use disorders. You’ll attend three sessions a week for three hours each. Their non intensive outpatient program can either be a step down from IOP or for those who don’t meet the criteria for IOP. This program guides and supports individuals through group, family and one on one therapy sessions.

Medication assisted treatment allows clients to focus on recovery without intense cravings and extended withdrawal symptoms. You’ll be under a doctor’s care while you're on this program. New Concepts administers Suboxone or Vivitrol as options. I like that they also offer a program designed specifically for teens with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
