About Morrison Child and Family Services

Morrison Child and Family Services is a nonprofit mental health and substance use treatment center in Portland, Oregon serving children, adolescents and young adults from birth through age 21. This outpatient clinic is part of a larger organization founded in 1947 that provides trauma informed care for youth coping with abuse and neglect, addiction and mental health challenges.

Accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by the Sanctuary Institute, Morrison emphasizes evidence based, compassionate treatment that supports both young people and their families.

Programs for Youth and Families

Morrison provides outpatient therapy services including individual counseling, family therapy and psychiatric assessment as well as medication management, case management and parent education. I think it's important that community based programs provide skills training and after hours crisis support, while school based services bring therapists directly into local schools to reduce barriers to care.

Treatment integrates dual diagnosis care for youth with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Clinicians use dialectical behavior therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused counseling, motivational interviewing and relapse prevention to address anxiety, depression and PTSD, disruptive behaviors and substance use in a safe, supportive environment.
