About Morris County Aftercare Center
Morris County Aftercare Center is an outpatient substance use treatment clinic in Denville, New Jersey. They offer methadone as part of their medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to treat opioid and alcohol addiction. They don’t accept private insurance plans but do take Medicaid and Medicare. They have a sliding scale for self-pay clients.
They also offer an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for their clients that takes place online. The IOP programs are held virtually on Zoom. They happen three times a week in the mornings. Clients must have a computer and access to Wi-Fi to participate.
You’ll also get individual counseling with a trained therapist as part of MAT. Clients are responsible for booking their own sessions which could be difficult for people, especially early on in their recovery. The frequency of these sessions goes down as people progress in their recovery. Sessions can be in person or over the phone and will include creating and reviewing short and long-term recovery goals.
I like that Morris County Aftercare Center offers take-home doses for their clients. In phase one, clients get one dose for their Sunday dose. After they have three months of compliance under their belt, they are able to get two take-home doses each week. The number of doses increases as each client reaches longer recovery milestones. After two years of compliance, clients can take 13 doses to bring home. I like the convenience of at-home dosing and also the sense of accomplishment it gives clients after earning them.
Their medical department can support clients with physical exams and medical assessments, pregnancy tests, and more. They also collect and analyze urine or blood for chemical substances.
