About Milestone Alcohol & Drug Center

Located in a semi-rural part of Putnam, Connecticut, is the Milestone Alcohol and Drug Center. This is a substance use recovery program that works specifically with women and mothers who have been impacted by addiction use.

They provide a continuum of services including at home and residential care. It’s also worth noting that this program is recognized as one of the few intensive and short term residential treatment center in the state. In addition to substance use, you’ll also find they provide supportive care if you have a dual diagnosis.

Individualized Recovery Plans for Putnam Residents

Aspects of this center that I value include its whole person approach to care. The care team takes the time to understand your struggles, how you and your children have been impacted, and the best way to help you move forward in your recovery goals.

In addition to their counseling services, there might be family centered interventions provided to you so that you can improve your relationships with loved ones including parents, children, siblings, and others.

I also find their networks of support to be one of the most expansive in the state. From their emergency on call services to their child and family specialty services to their in home support services, there are many ways this organization can help you.

<h3<Meeting You Where You Are

Services are provided to you no matter what stage in your recovery you're in. For example, the mobile crisis team might be deployed and serve as your first point of contact for treatment. You can get connected to residential and supported housing services if you need a safe environment while in recovery as well. Plus, you'll also find medication assisted treatment if you have an opioid dependence.

Their focus is on helping you pinpoint the issues in your life that are keeping you from health and wellness. And I find that their approach to care is intentional, can be specialized depending on your circumstances, and is regularly adjusted to meet your needs. Most importantly, it’s focused on you as an individual so that you get the right care.

It's these services that I find allow this center to stand up to its name as being one of the state's most supportive resources for addiction recovery.
