About Mid Ohio Valley Fellowship Home
Mid Ohio Valley Fellowship Home provides substance addiction treatment for men and women 18 and older. They’re based in a nondescript residence in suburban Parkersburg, West Virginia. The Little Kanawha River is near by. They offer residential care to focus on healing without outside distractions that often hinder us from recovery.
We noted the program lasts 6-12 months, depending on your severity of symptoms. The gender-specific program allows time to heal and a secure setting to work through addiction challenges.
The program promotes ownership and accountability for recovery. They include programs for men who have experienced problems with the legal system as a result of substance abuse. I found the service works to break the addiction cycle and remove people from the legal system for a productive, substance-free lifestyle.
The women’s program also addresses the need to heal from issues like domestic violence, past traumas, and helps those at risk of becoming homeless. Clients in these circumstances may qualify for their long-term residential program. This is a sober living home offering structure and a safe environment to continue their sobriety. It includes fewer restrictions than residential care but still allows a foundation of support to help in recovery.
I discovered a unique aspect of their program is that women with children and men who have custody of their children can also live at the facility. This service helps promote healthy outcomes for families and may strengthen the relationships between children and parents.
Peer support is included in the program to help you navigate recovery and have examples of hope and courage while they embrace a sober lifestyle. Parents will develop the skills to be the sober, productive moms and dads their children deserve.
