About TURN Behavioral Health Services—Kinesis North, Escondido

Tucked in a quiet corner of Escondido, California, just west of the citrus groves and not far from the trails of Daley Ranch, TURN’s Kinesis North Clinic doesn’t look or feel like your typical rehab. There’s no corporate aesthetic or sterile waiting rooms. Instead, what you get is something more rare—humans helping humans find their footing again.

Mental Health and Addiction Treated Together

They used to be part of the Mental Health Systems network before transitioning to TURNS. I notice that the TURN network doesn’t separate mental health from addiction. For many people who walk through their doors, it’s never been one or the other. Trauma, housing instability, substance use, and depression are often interwoven. TURN understands that. Their team of therapists, peer specialists, and case managers works together to untangle those knots, without judgment. Clients receive counseling, recovery support, and life coaching all in one place, on their terms.

Not Just Treatment: A Way Forward

TURN doesn’t just help people get clean. They help people get back—back to jobs, to housing, and to past versions of themselves they thought were lost.

I’m especially impressed by their employment support program, which helps individuals find work that interests and inspires them, giving them a sense of purpose and accomplishment. Grape Day Park and Escondido Public Library are also nearby in case you’re looking for some recreation or to learn new skills.

No Insurance? No Problem

As a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, TURN is committed to improving the lives of individuals, families, and communities affected by behavioral health challenges. This publicly-funded organization accepts at-risk clients who cannot afford privately paid services or for whom these services are not suitable. They serve an estimated 14,000 each day across all of their facilities.

Amenities

Private Rehab

Private drug rehab provides a comfortable, secure environment that allows you to focus on doing the work to get your life back on track. Benefits include a higher staff-to-client ratio, increased one-on-one time with therapists and healthcare providers, private rooms for clients, and customized forms of therapy.

Residential Setting

Residential drug rehab provides the comforts of home with the therapeutic support needed to successfully recover. Benefits of an inpatient program include increased safety, a higher success rate, and the time and distance given to focus on recovery. Residential drug rehabs are often the preferred method of treatment, as they can be tailored to meet specific needs, offer focused therapeutic care, and provide the necessary tools to sustain recovery.

Addiction Treatment Programs

Teen & Adolescent Program

Typically, a young adult program in California can guide individuals from detox, through initial treatment, and extends to aftercare. Treatment gives young adults what they need to reset their lives and move to the next stage of life free from addiction.

Adult Program

An adult program in California uses various therapeutic methods to treat a person who is dependent on an addictive substance. Individuals aged 18 and older are eligible for treatment, which focuses on breaking the cycle of addiction and learning how to maintain sober living.

Alcoholism

Alcohol rehab in California provides professional treatment to guide participants through each step of recovery. Programs offer a support system to walk you through challenges and celebrate victories with you, from detox to long-term sobriety.

Men's Rehab

Gender-specific addiction treatment programs may be more effective in treating men because they focus on unique needs of males. Men’s rehab in California is designed to help men process emotions and cope with stress in a judgment-free environment.

Women's Rehab

Women’s rehab in California provides a safe environment where women can work through addiction challenges surrounded by their gender peers. This often creates an environment that is more conducive to recovery.

Opioid Treatment

Levels of Care

Outpatient Rehab

When you choose outpatient rehab in California, you will meet with a counselor and attend support group meetings. The focus will be on restructuring attitudes and thoughts to reduce cravings and develop skills to prevent relapse. The length of time in outpatient rehab varies by individual, based on their recovery needs.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

When you have a co-occurring disorder, it is essential to treat both your addiction and the mental health disorder. California dual diagnosis treatment provides this type of multidisciplinary approach, for improved recovery outcomes.

Aftercare & Alumni Program

Community support and relationship-building are key elements of aftercare rehab in California. You’ll receive recovery coaching, social support, and mentors to help you maintain sobriety after completing initial rehab treatment. This support will continue as long as you need it, which could be weeks or more than a year.

Detox & MAT

When you enter drug rehab in California, detox is the first step towards becoming drug-free. The detox process includes 24/7 monitoring and medical care and may include the use of medications to ease withdrawal symptoms.

Sober Living

California sober living has been shown to reduce relapse and improve recovery. These programs offer highly-structured living environments for those who desire to remain sober. House rules usually include abstinence from substances, participation in 12-step meetings, and contribution to household responsibilities.

Payment Options

Self-Pay Options

There are a number of self-pay options available for alcohol and drug rehab in California. If you can’t afford to write a check for the full cost of inpatient or outpatient treatment, personal and medical loans offer alternate ways of financing.

Private Insurance

As a California resident with private rehab insurance, you can use your coverage to help pay for alcohol and drug addiction treatment. You may be asked to pay some costs like a co-payment or co-insurance. Check with your insurer for more information.

Medicaid Accepted

If you’re an in-state resident and eligible for Medicaid, you can use your coverage to assist with the cost of alcohol and drug rehab in California. Medicaid can help cover all levels of care, including detox in California, inpatient rehab in California, and more.

Financial Aid

If you need help paying for alcohol and drug rehab, financial aid may be an option for you. Financial assistance options include grants, scholarships, non-profit programs, personal funding, and health insurance programs to help you manage the expense of substance abuse treatment.

Medicare Accepted

Medicare in California (known as Medi-Cal) may provide coverage options to assist with the cost of alcohol and drug rehab in California. The amount of coverage will depend on many things, including whether you are seeking inpatient or outpatient treatment for substance abuse.

Sliding Scale Payment

If you’re ready to enter a drug rehab program in California, but you cannot afford to pay the full amount, a sliding scale payment plan may be the solution for you. This option asks you to make payments in an amount you can reasonably afford on a consistent basis. To qualify for this discount, you must complete an application and provide supporting financial documentation.

Payment Plans & Financing

For those who are underinsured or uninsured, paying the total cost of a rehab program up front is not feasible. Fortunately, many alcohol and drug rehabs make financing available to potential clients through private loans, in-house payment plans, or partner lenders.
