About Meridian Behavioral Health – Tapestry

The Tapestry Treatment Center of Meridian Behavioral Health is a women’s residential facility in a secluded corner of Saint Paul, Minnesota. The facility is handicapped accessible and licensed to treat co-occurring disorders. They are CARF-accredited and LegitScript certified.

This women’s facility has 60 beds and is located near the MIssissippi River, the public library and park. Insurance is accepted including Medicaid. They also accept Rule 24 funding. You’ll be allowed to smoke tobacco products in their smoking designated areas.

You will be in a safe and caring environment. I'm impressed that the building has restricted access for visitors and there are plenty of cameras on the outside for the clients' protection. Their staff is onsite round the clock. You’ll receive between 30-35 hours of programming per week.

Individualized Treatment for Each Guest

Their team consists of nursing staff, mental health professionals, licensed drug and alcohol counselors, recovery specialists and certified peer recovery specialists. I like that your care team will meet regularly to review your progress. During this time, they will make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan so that you are able to continue to make progress and meet your goals.

When you arrive for treatment, you’ll undergo an assessment to help their staff understand your substance use history, as well as your medical and mental needs. Once that’s complete, you can attend their new patient orientation.

I do like that they keep group therapy to a small group setting. You’ll attend groups that cover topics on life skills, relapse prevention, communication skills, trauma, dialectical behavioral therapy, spirituality, female centered topics and mental health education. If needed, medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available.

Engagement Activities for Fun

What stood out to me is their recreational therapy program. The purpose for this program is so that you are able to see that you can have fun without the need for substance use. Onsite there are courts for volleyball and ping pong, and bean bag toss area. You can also take some walks for exercise and relaxation.
