About Mercer Family Resource Center
Located in an industrial part of Casper, Wyoming, is the Mercer Family Resource Center. This organization was founded in 1971 by a group of parents who wanted to provide meaningful, structured, and supportive care to families who were experiencing behavioral health hardships.
Their focus was originally to target at risk youth alongside addiction treatment services. Today, that mission continues through programs that provide evidence based, solution oriented care to individuals impacted by substance use or mental health.
Some assessments and programs are offered at flat fees. They also accept Medicaid and there are sliding scale discounts available.
Substance Use Assessments
Substance use assessments and programs are available for individuals who have been charged with DUI and have lost driving privileges as a result. Their drug and alcohol programs empower young adults to make stronger life choices.
They use mental health counseling to treat your addictions. If you have a co-occurring condition, you'll work with counselors to help you overcome the triggers that led you to turn to drugs and alcohol.
It’s also convenient that they’re located by Black Gold Byway State Park along the North Platte River. You can stretch your legs and meditate, or just relax a bit between sessions.
Yes to Y.E.C.
Their Youth Empowerment Council (YEC) is a really supportive community of adolescents and teens who want to lead productive, successful lives. This Council meets regularly for community outings, team bonding activities, and volunteering opportunities.
The vision and mission of this group is to give children a safe space to build strong self confidence and explore what a substance free lifestyle looks like, all while allowing them to build meaningful connections with individuals their own age. This can be an effective program for children at risk of substance use or have mental health disorders like anxiety or depression that have hindered their ability to enjoy their lives.
