About Madison Health
The Mental Health Services (MHS) of Madison County is based in London, Ohio. It’s near Cowling Park and the municipal swimming pool. They bring together several mental health and substance use care services for the local community. It's open to people of all ages with a mixture of inpatient and outpatient services. Many of their clients are from low income backgrounds and have difficulty integrating with their communities.
The programs are designed to provide a full continuum of care and easy transitions between levels of care. No matter where you are in recovery, MHS staff have the skills and experience to help. They're accredited by The Joint Commission, which speaks to the high quality of their care.
Leading the Way in Co-Occurring Disorder Treatment
Substance use disorder rarely comes alone. In many cases, it either lends itself to or is an extension of a mental health concern. This sometimes happens when someone turns to drugs or alcohol to cope with a condition like anxiety or depression.
The integrated care model of MHS tackles these co-occurring disorders to recognize the relationships between them and explores their links. I like this approach because it leads to broader treatment to address the related problems, so there's less risk of relapse in the future.
Making It Easier for Kids To Get Help and Social Support
MHS can bring counseling to kids and teens in their schools. I think this is a great service because it really simplifies things for young clients who face additional difficulty getting seen. It can also make things easier for parents who aren't able to transport their child or fit it easily into their schedule.
Many treatment programs rightly emphasize the importance of developing a support network during and after treatment through peer support groups. But some leave it up to you to find them, which can be a challenge and leave you feeling unprepared until you do.
MHS includes support groups as an optional part of treatment for all ages. By incorporating it into treatment you'll get a much needed headstart on developing those supportive relationships you'll come to rely on post treatment.
MHS accepts some insurance plans. Contact them for more information.
