About Mended Reeds Mental Health
Mended Reeds Mental Health in Ironton, Ohio, provides mental health, substance abuse and behavioral health care for adults. They are accredited by CARF which means they meet high standards of care. They are a faith-based organization but are not sponsored by any specific religious association. Clients are encouraged but not forced to participate in any kind of spiritual practice. They offer a range of substance use treatments for men and women and have a sliding fee scale.
Phased Treatment Plan
The Mended Reeds program uses a three-phase system to help clients gradually recover enough to live successfully in the community. Clients start with residential treatment during which they live onsite and develop the skills needed to succeed. I like that everyone has independent assignments that they need to work on. As residents move through the phases, they gain independence and receive more off-site privileges.
Clients participate in NA or AA meetings each week. I appreciate that they teach important life skills like cooking, parenting and applying for jobs.
Counseling sessions take place in individual and group formats. I like that everyone gets at least 30 hours of counseling every week. This allows you to make real and deep progress. They also offer family and crisis counseling when necessary.
Support for At-Risk Youth in Ironton
Another great thing about Mended Reeds is their focus on at-risk youth. They do a lot of work in family preservation and parenting education. They support families in their homes, in school settings and in their office in downtown Ironton. They also offer residential treatment.
