About McShin Foundation
Based in Richmond, Virginia, McShin Foundation is a private drug rehab and Recovery Community Organization offering levels of care including outpatient treatment, residential halfway houses, medication assisted treatment, sober living homes and aftercare services. Support is available for adult men and women of all ethnicities and walks of life.
Medication assisted treatment is also offered to treat opiate addiction as part of their outpatient and residential programs. The program primarily uses suboxone.
McShin’s outpatient program is designed to treat addiction as well as concurrent dual diagnosis mental health issues. Initial assessments are offered alongside individual and group therapy sessions.
McShin also offers a 28 day residential treatment program for clients needing more intensive support and round-the-clock care. Group and individual therapy are provided. Modalities may include cognitive behavioral therapy, contingency management therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. Clients are expected to attend a minimum of four recovery related peer groups and two 12 Step meetings per day. Additionally, clients will be assigned an individual recovery coach and offered life skills education and development sessions.
McShin’s sober living homes also offer a supportive environment for those in need of a safe base to continue their recovery journey. All sober living homes feature a peer leader to guide residents. Residents also have access to peer support, the Richmond Addiction Treatment Center and its activities, random drug screenings and a structured daily routine.
Aftercare at McShin ensures a smooth transition back to everyday life by offering access to resources and community events after treatment.
McShin accepts self pay, grant and scholarship admission options but unfortunately does not accept insurance. However, clients may be referred to additional care that accepts private insurance plans such as Blue Cross, Aetna, Cigna and Humana. Clients are always advised to clarify coverage regarding out of network benefits.
