About McLaren Flint

Based in Flint, Michigan, McLaren Flint Behavioral Health specializes in the treatment of mental health issues including substance abuse and addiction. Support is available to teens and adults. Medicare and Medicaid are accepted as well as other private insurance providers.

The partial hospitalization programs here are designed to help individuals transition from inpatient care while preventing further hospitalization. Two separate and distinctive programs are offered here. One is for teens aged 12 to 17. The other is for adults aged 18 and older. In 2017 their teen partial hospitalization program was a finalist for National Partial Hospital Program of the Year from the Association for Ambulatory Behavioral Healthcare. The program itself provides psychiatric treatment for teens as well as educational intervention and school liaison services to help clients ease back into their studies as smoothly as possible.

The program includes daily consultations with physicians along with comprehensive assessments. Medication management is offered alongside conflict resolution and anger management sessions. Several therapy options are provided such as insight oriented group therapy, family therapy, expressive therapy and recreational therapy. Educational sessions are also offered to families. Discharge planning is ongoing as a means of supporting clients to ensure they have the best resources possible at the end of their treatment period.

The adult partial hospitalization program involves much the same and also includes further alcohol and drug prevention education. They also provide referrals for further or more intensive drug rehab treatment.

Referrals are required for access to McLaren’s partial hospitalization program. Transportation can also be arranged for individuals who live within the radius of the pickup van’s route.

Senior Drug & Alcohol Rehab

Age-specific rehab can put participants at ease because they are with their peers. Elderly rehab in Michigan provides a safe and inviting setting for seniors to get the help they need to overcome addiction.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT)

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) is a form of psychotherapy commonly used in addiction recovery. Based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), moral reconation therapy (MRT) helps clients recognize unhealthy and/or harmful thought patterns and to replace them with more positive and productive ones. MRT is designed to empower clients to make healthier life choices and to more effectively align their behaviors with their moral values.

Levels of Care

Outpatient Rehab

Outpatient rehab in Michigan is tailored to each person’s recovery journey. This treatment usually involves several hours of therapy sessions each week, along with attendance at support group meetings. However, the timeline varies from a few weeks, to months, to years, based on your needs.

Dual Diagnosis & Mental Health

A dual diagnosis treatment center in Michigan allows you to get treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders at the same time. This is critical, because untreated mental health disorders often lead to relapse and poor recovery outcomes.
