About Mc Call Foundation Inc

Serving the community of Winsted, Connecticut, the McCall Foundation is a non-profit behavioral health system with a variety of residential and outpatient programs. Their location in Winsted provides outpatient addiction treatment and mental health services including medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Using a combination of holistic therapies, support services, and clinical support, the medical team will help you create an individualized treatment plan. The intensive outpatient program meets three times per week for five weeks and you’ll be expected to attend all 15 sessions.

The IOP is designed for people in early recovery and it addresses all lifestyle issues that may have been neglected during addiction. Programming includes individual and group therapy, educational sessions, and random tox screenings. They use Hazelden’s Living in Balance model for their sessions.

There are several specialized groups you can join including women and men-only. The relapse prevention group meets weekly for 60 minutes. Sessions focus on relapse triggers, building prevention skills, and early recovery issues. This program uses the Matrix Model and the length of time in the program depends on your individual needs. A co-occurring disorder 12-step meeting meets weekly with a focus on mental illness and substance use. If you join this program, you’ll engage in motivational enhancement, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the 12 steps.

The MAT program can be accessed through same-day appointments or walk-ups through the mobile wellness vans. You’ll meet with a medical provider, therapist, and recovery support specialist. If you meet the medical criteria, you’ll be prescribed Suboxone to treat withdrawal symptoms and physical cravings.
