About Market Street Mission
Market Street Mission in Morristown, New Jersey, provides free substance abuse programs for men. This Christian-based program is made possible through generous partners so that regardless of your insurance coverage or income, you can get the help you need to turn your life around.
Program gives you access to individual and group counseling, education and career training, and life skills classes. Clients will participate in work therapy so that they can develop work skills that will be useful after treatment ends. They also provide transitional housing for after you graduate. You'll be required to attend 12 Step meetings and weekly church services as part of this program.
I like that men are able to really think about if this program is right for them before signing up. All clients enter a month-long pre-program stay where they get to understand the program before formally joining. This program is the gateway which is like a waiting list to begin treatment.
The first official stage of the program is work therapy based. This lets your body get into the habit of recovery and also lets you develop your work ethic. Phase two of the program includes classroom work on topics such as fatherhood, anger management, christian financial management, employment skills and more.
The last phase of the program is all about transition. Graduates can live for another three months at no cost at the facility. You'll get a job and begin to save money and plan for your next step. Market Street Mission also runs several silver houses for alumni. you can pay a lower rent and get daily accountability and peer support.
