About MHA Addiction Crisis Center

Mid Hudson Addiction Recovery Center (MARC) merged with Mental Health America (MHA) Dutchess County in 2018, and is now the MHA Addiction Crisis Center (MACC). The center is in Poughkeepsie, New York, and is a residential program that includes non medical detox and medication assisted treatment (MAT). They accept various insurance plans as well as some payment assistance for eligible clients.

Around the Clock Addiction and Mental Health Care

I think it’s convenient that the facility in Poughkeepsie is a half mile from the Union Street Historic District that features well preserved Victorian and Federal style architecture. This vibrant walkable area has several parks, including the Bob Shepard Highland Landing Park with its riverfront views and a link to the Walkway Loop Trail.

The detox program here includes MAT with medications such as Vivitrol, naltrexone, methadone and buprenorphine. It is overseen by clinicians and ensures a safe withdrawal for clients who don’t need a hospital level detox.

MACC is specifically designed to stabilize clients before they transfer to another inpatient or outpatient program. The program diverts individuals from hospital emergency rooms to this community based treatment alternative. It offers comprehensive referrals to appropriate substance use and mental health treatment programs.

A Comprehensive Referral Network

The MHA Dutchess County organization provides a large network of addiction services. In addition to the MACC, they offer community residences and sober supported housing.

The sober supported housing is something many clients will appreciate. It’s a subsidized housing program that helps clients secure safe housing while they’re mastering their sobriety. All care within the MACC and supported housing programs offers specialized treatment, depending on your unique circumstances.

They help veterans with tailored programs that address their unique challenges such as trauma and PTSD. Additionally, they have gender specific programs for men and women, and also welcome those in the LGBTQ+ community.
