About Life’s Second Chance Treatment Center South

Life’s Second Chance Treatment Center has two locations in Dallas, Texas. The South location is on Lancaster Road where they provide opioid addiction treatment in an outpatient setting. They accept insurance plans including Aetna, Cigna, Medicaid, Medicare and Amerigroup. They also take cash, credit cards, online payments and money orders.

They provide medication assisted treatment to improve the quality of their patient's lives. They offer physical evaluations, individual treatment plans with regular progress updates, detox services, counseling and case management.

In order to become a client, you must be at least 18 years old and primarily use opioids. Life's Second Chance provides services regardless of somebody's gender, race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. They also have programs for women who are pregnant.

Clients get the option between methadone and Suboxone. Both are FDA approved medications that have been proven to be effective in opioid recovery. Methadone prevents you from having withdrawal symptoms and cravings and also blocks the effect of opioids. You'll have a constant dose in your bloodstream as you take your daily dose. While there may be some uncomfortable side effects, these tend to be short-term and could be fixed with a dosage change.

Suboxone works similarly to methadone in that it blocks the effects of opioids. Most people tolerate the initial discomfort of starting this new medication pretty well. Your provider will discuss the difference between methadone and Suboxone with you so that you can get the treatment that's best suited to your needs.

One of the most important parts of recovery is learning how to prevent a relapse. Your case manager will refer you to community support groups to help you build a network so you can stay on track in your recovery. They'll also help you overcome roadblocks that could prevent you from sticking to your recovery.
