About Lane County Drug Treatment Services
The Lane County Treatment Center, located in Eugene, Oregon, provides medication assisted treatment (MAT) to adults with opioid use disorders. The philosophy of the Center is that addiction is a long term journey, and they support clients throughout the process by addressing their challenges along the way.
They accept the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid), private insurance, and self payment. They may have a sliding scale of fees for those without insurance.
Outpatient MAT Services in Two Programs
I noticed that the MAT treatment is divided into two programs. The Lake County Medication Assisted Recovery Services (MARS) uses buprenorphine and case management services. They also refer clients to other forms of treatment. However, MARS isn’t intended to be a robust treatment program.
The second program is MAT and is a methadone maintenance program. They provide individual and group counseling to help clients look honestly at their lives as a whole and take responsibility for their actions.
This program has a capacity of 500 patients, and they make sure to address other needs such as other substance use and medical conditions that include liver problems, poor dental health, open sores, HIV and hepatitis C. Their MAT also helps clients find work and build healthy relationships.
Services provided in the MAT program include medication, counseling, drug screens, crisis support, HIV education and assessment, case management and peer support. They also have drug education and can connect clients to community resources.
I found it interesting that the location has a Good Neighbor Agreement publicly available on the website. This type of agreement can make it easier for clinics to operate without complaints from surrounding residents and businesses.
