About RASE Project of Lancaster
The RASE Program of Lancaster, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is a nonprofit organization created to give a voice to the anonymous recovering population. They work to aid the recovery process through positive interaction and empowering assistance. They do this through various programs, social events such as dances and breakfasts, and public policy forums to pass along the most recent legislation affecting the recovery community.
Services in Lancaster
Offering life skill classes, Recovery 101 groups and vocational assistance, the Lancaster location strives to demonstrate that recovery works. To this end they recruit recovering and nonrecovering people to ensure a voice in public policy. They host annual events, and drop-in services are available all day. Also available is the Medication Assisted Recovery Services (MARS) program, which provides care management, support groups, medication monitoring and mentoring. Buprenorphine care coordination is also provided here. They’re funded in part by the Lancaster County Drug and Alcohol Commission.
Men’s RASE House
Also in Lancaster is a men’s RASE house, which provides transitional housing in a family-like setting. What stands out to me is that they operate under the philosophy of embracing a new way of life.
Residents are expected to attend mandatory 12 Step meetings, educational groups and classes, and to participate in recovery plan development. A resident manager lives on site. I like that the program is designed to help residents achieve sustained recovery and full-time employment as well as develop important life skills.
