About Koinonia Family Services Homes for Teens

Located in Loomis, California, is the Koinonia Family Services Homes for Teens. This is a residential treatment facility that serves teens who are transitioning into young adulthood and independent living as well as teens identified as “at risk.”

If you are a teen struggling with your mental health, have a behavioral health diagnosis, or are working through substance abuse and drug addiction struggles, you’ll find the compassionate care here to start life off on the right foot.

Eight Intensive Residential Treatment Programs

There are eight residential programs here that provide intensive support. These programs include their Short Term Residential Therapeutic Programs (STRTP), their Crisis Resolution Centers (CRC), and their Behavioral Health Programs (BHP).

They offer culturally competent, trauma informed care and you’ll work with experienced healthcare professionals who will be by your side throughout your treatment program.

Therapy Services

While enrolled in the residential treatment program, you'll receive targeted therapy for your unique needs. If you're struggling or have struggled with substance use, the counselors here will work with you to develop the skills you need to overcome these challenges.

Cognitive behavioral approaches are used alongside other evidence based approaches to help you identify emotional struggles and how to overcome those struggles.

Wraparound Care

Teens transitioning into adulthood face different struggles, including emotional obstacles that can make the transition harder. The Koinonia Family Services Homes recognize the emotional complexities that come with this transitional period, and they provide holistic approaches to help you build the life readiness skills you need.

For example, you'll learn what it means to build an independent lifestyle, what skills you need to develop, and what behaviors and habits will feed into those skills.

You'll participate in mock interviews, learn trade skills, learn how to manage finances, and how to generally be self sufficient. There are also educational opportunities here that allow you to obtain your GED. You’ll also find that there are partnerships within the community to help provide you with the academic counseling and vocational support services you need.
