About Lower Keys Medical Center — DePoo Medical Building
The Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Florida, includes the DePoo Building, which houses the behavioral health program. This program has an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for those with substance use disorders and/or co occurring mental health issues. They accept most major insurance plans as well as private payment.
Personalized Care for Those With Addiction and Co-Occurring Disorders
The intensive outpatient program offers the usual nine hours of treatment hours using evidence based individual and group treatment. The goal is to help patients achieve a stable long term recovery and avoid relapse or admission to the hospital.
I noticed that the Lower Keys Medical Center has social workers available for clients as well as therapists, nurses and psychiatrists. Social workers can help you transition out of the program into independent living by helping you connect with housing services and support for long term employment and/or education. They can also help you find peer recovery groups and other services.
Having a safe and substance free place to live along with appropriate employment can help reinforce your new habits and keep you established in your sober lifestyle. You’ll be less tempted to return to your old friend group and lifestyle when you have a strong sober network and ongoing reinforcement.
Addiction Treatment Programs

Treatment at an adult program in Florida addresses the needs of each individual as they work toward recovery. Programs are designed for men and women ages 18 and up, and include a variety of treatment protocols to match the severity of the addiction, type of substance, and personal situation.Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida helps people in treatment to revisit painful thoughts and memories and learn new ways to cope with them. These newly-learned techniques replace substance use and help the individual maintain sobriety.Senior Drug & Alcohol Rehab
If you're over the age of 65, elderly rehab in Florida gives you the opportunity to be in a treatment program with your peers. This tends to be helpful for older adults because they can receive mutual support and acceptance from their peers. These programs are specifically designed for seniors.Teen & Adolescent Program
Young adults often develop addiction for different reasons than older individuals. That’s why a young adult program in Florida focuses on the unique pressures, needs, and challenges faced by young adults.Levels of Care
