The Kent County Behavioral Health Clinic, located in Chestertown, Maryland, provides outpatient mental health treatment as well as Recovery in Motion, a peer support program that supports both mental health and addiction clients. Peer support groups and activities are free of charge. For mental health care, the clinic accepts Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and has a discounted fee scale for those without insurance. Some private health insurance plans may cover their services as well.

Another part of Recovery in Motion that caught my attention was their harm reduction and overdose education. With free naloxone and overdose prevention training, along with harm reduction resources, the program helps those community members stay healthy until they’re ready for treatment.

Job Search Assistance and Fun Activities

Along with support with recovery, I was impressed to see that you can also get help with your job search here. They’ll give you tips on your resume, help you improve interview skills, and give you ideas on how to look for work.

There are also a lot of fun activities at Recovery in Motion. They have special events and onsite arts and crafts so you’re never wondering what to do to have fun without substance use.
