About Johns Creek & Alpharetta Counseling “JCAC”

Johns Creek Alpharetta Counseling for Children and Adults is a truly unique behavioral health and addiction clinic in Alpharetta, Georgia. What makes them so special in my eyes is that they have specialty counseling programs for people at every age of life, from the very young to seniors.

Age specific care addresses the challenges unique to each group. Johns Creek recognizes four age groups: children, adolescents, adults and seniors. I think these specialized groups show a dedication to personalizing care to each individual.

Treatment at Johns Creek is provided on an outpatient basis. They accept payment in the form of self pay and out of network insurance.

Support for Caregivers

Counseling for any problem, addiction or otherwise, should consider those closest to the recipient. That's because their relationships tend to be impacted by whatever the problem is, which is especially true with addiction and mental illnesses. Johns Creek recognizes this stress on friends, family and other caregivers and teaches coping skills to help them manage stress, so they can be at their best for those they love and themselves.

Specialized Play Therapy

Therapy can help children living with trauma cope and curb any negative impact early on so they can continue to grow and thrive into teenage years and adulthood. But you can't talk to children in therapy the same way you would an adult, so that's where play therapy comes in.

As the name suggests, play therapy is a method where children express themselves through play. Therapists guide the process to explore the child's problems and help them develop coping skills and solutions. Johns Creek specializes in this approach and invites parents to involve themselves at each step.
