About Jacobs Ladder
Jacob’s Ladder is a long-term residential substance abuse center for men. They’re located in Aurora, West Virginia. The unique setting for treatment joins the Brookside Farm and Cathedral State Park. The timber and farming country is a place of healing and recovery, with tranquil surroundings that include pastureland, forest, and mountains.
The program includes three phases, which involve acceptance, discovery, and awakening. Guests begin getting educated about addiction and focus only on preparation for long-term recovery through 12 Steps. They spend time farming and learning self-reliance while also having time for music and art therapy.
During your second and third months, you’ll start learning more about yourself and how to love. You’ll spend more time on the farm and socializing with peers while moving toward leadership roles that prepare you for responsibility in the community and being of service to others.
The awakening phase is the third segment of Jacob’s Ladder program. You’ll supervise farm chores, lead peers, and provide more service for new community guests. You’ll set and achieve personal goals that help with accountability and motivate you. This phase is where you begin making amends with others and learn relapse prevention methods to use after treatment. The team will help design an aftercare plan that works with your needs to continue supporting a life of sobriety.
Jacob’s Ladder is a community of people who believe authentic love and unconditional regard can assist with addiction treatment. They emphasize hard work and connection with others as vital components of their treatment protocol. Through the three phases of farm work therapy, you’ll gain an understanding of deep, lasting connections with others, your Higher Power, and yourself.
