About Outpatient Services at VOA Oregon

Volunteers of America (VOA) Oregon provides extensive outpatient behavioral health services for adults through a specialized initiative known as the Holistic Outpatient Experience (HOPE). HOPE fosters healing for those whose lives have been disrupted by substance use disorder, mental health challenges and problematic gambling. Support is available for everyone including those involved in the criminal justice system.
Outpatient Services at VOA Oregon is located on Southeast Washington Street in Portland, Oregon, just over three miles northwest of Powell Butte Nature Park and southeast of the Clinton Street Theater. One of the things I find quite appealing about this program is that they offer bilingual support in English and Spanish to accommodate patients from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Integrated Support For Long-Term Success

HOPE delivers integrated care that fosters whole-person recovery for adults facing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders. This begins with an intake assessment or evaluation and personalized recovery planning to ensure tailored support at every stage of your healing journey. You’ll then participate in therapeutic and psychoeducation sessions to gain practical skills that encourage accountability, personal responsibility and positive behavioral change.
If you’re opioid dependent, you’ll be prescribed FDA-approved medication through medication-assisted treatment to help ease withdrawal symptoms and minimize risk. Tailored support may also include psychiatric evaluation and medication management to help you address co-occurring mental health issues and restore mental stability.
In addition, I like that you’ll have access to care providers specialized in naturopathic or alternative medicine to ensure general wellness of the mind, body and spirit. Wraparound services include case management with a focus on helping you navigate personal needs like housing and employment.

Support For Justice-Involved Adults

Outpatient Services at VOA Oregon boasts skilled counselors, most with a legal background, who can help you resolve legal issues related to DUI charges from diversion to conviction and license restrictions. They can even help you navigate resources and reporting requirements of federal, state and local parole as well as probation, courts or child services. They also offer evaluation and counseling for individuals with problematic gambling behavior.
