Established in 2004, In Balance Ranch Academy is on 100 acres in Huachuca City, Arizona, is a therapeutic boarding school for young men aged 14 to 17. Accredited by The Joint Commission, they believe that recovery can also be rewarding and fun. Parents say their children have developed better communication skills and relationships, and that it’s given them peace of mind.

Equine and Experiential Therapy

Equine therapy plays a big role in treatment by teaching young people about family roles, rules, and boundaries. It improves self esteem and body awareness, as well as reinforcing the principles of recovery. I love how the Academy also provides experiential adventure therapy, including rock climbing and skateboarding. In Arizona’s desert climate, they’re able to offer year long outdoor activities.
