About IDEA Aurora

IDEA is an outpatient substance use agency that works to help teens and adults break the generational cycle of addiction. They offer culturally aware therapy to help you become empowered to move forward toward a bright future. They have multiple locations in Colorado including one in Aurora.

They offer Level 1 through 4+ of DUI education for folks who’ve received a DUI/DWI charge. This includes treatment for underage drinkers. You can get interlock enhancement counseling as well. IDEA offers two levels of treatment for substance use disorder (SUD): intensive outpatient and enhanced outpatient treatment. Both of these programs will focus on recovery planning, relapse prevention and cognitive therapy. They also offer smoking cessation.

IDEA offers domestic violence offender services that include assessment and individual and group sessions. If you’ve been convicted of a domestic violence offense then you can get gender specific treatment at IDEA. They also offer LGBTQ+ specific programming. This program includes anger management, victim empathy, parenting and life skills, and adult responsibility.

All their programs use proven practices like mindfulness-based relapse prevention, Matrix Model, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and more. They have specific topics that could be relevant to different clients such as Seeking Safety which is a trauma-informed method of recovery. They also have one called Helping Men Recover which is a male-specific program.

I like that they are up front with their fees. They have flat rates for evaluations, assessments and individual and group sessions. Clients are able to pay online for any service.
