Howard Friese Lakeside House is a men’s residential substance use disorder treatment facility in Duluth, Minnesota. As part of the Center for Alcohol and Drug Treatment (CADT), clients have access to mental health professionals and a seamless transition between other levels of care in their network, like withdrawal management and outpatient care.
Medication and Counseling for Recovery
I noticed that men can access medication-assisted treatment through CADT for opioid use disorder with Suboxone and methadone. Group and individual counseling help their clients to build recovery skills and learn how to avoid relapse. Staff work closely with them to coordinate care and ensure that the treatment fits their personal needs.
Transportation and Health Management
They offer their clients rides to off-site appointments. I think it’s helpful that a pharmacist is also available to help their clients manage medications and ensure they are used safely and effectively.
Preparing for Life After Treatment
