Many clients that come here begin with detox, which involves medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help individuals manage uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Medication management is also used to support this. The time clients spend in detox varies depending on the severity of their addiction as well as many other factors and can span anywhere between a week and a month.
On completion of the detox process, clients will work with the team to establish a personalized, holistic treatment plan designed to see to their medical, physical, and psychological needs. For some, the next step may be inpatient.
In this program, clients stay in a homely facility, safe and secure with 24-hour professional care. To begin with, they’ll receive a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment to gather information that will further inform their treatment plan.
Some of the treatment methods applied in this program can include individual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). These therapy options are ideal for helping clients get to the root of their addiction and engaging with the behavioral patterns that may have led them to where they’re currently at. Individuals with concurrent mental health conditions can also address these while on the residential program.
Outpatient programs such as partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) offer specialized services to help clients as they gradually transition back to independent life. In PHP, clients usually spend roughly seven hours per day in treatment for around 10 to 15 days. This option is ideal for individuals who are more susceptible to relapse or cravings, as it allows them to continue with intensive treatments while prepping for independence.
Meanwhile, IOP is more flexible, allowing individuals to carry on with work or study commitments while they recover. Many of the activities included are designed to help individuals adjust to independent living, while they continue with ongoing therapy sessions.
