About Hope House
Hope House is a residential and intensive outpatient recovery program in Augusta, Georgia. They welcome women aged 18 and older who are experiencing addiction and mental health conditions. They prioritize pregnant women, women with children and those experiencing homelessness and poverty. You’ll have a safe, stable environment to build a healthier life for you and your family.
With a focus on instilling self sufficiency, their programs provide the tools for healing and recovery. You can participate in various proven interventions, including group and individual therapy, relapse prevention, life skills training, peer support, health and fitness and parenting classes. Each program accounts for trauma and abuse, ensuring you receive the support and guidance to overcome these challenges.
What stands out most to me is their residential program length. Their sober living units offer a private, long term space to receive continuous care and focus on recovery. You and your children can live in one of their 42 units for up to 24 months. I think it’s great that you have ample time to strengthen your coping and parenting skills while building a solid recovery network.
Another eye-catching feature I noticed was their emphasis on strengthening family dynamics. Stepping away from your children to work on recovery can be distressing. They create a safe space so you can remain with your kids as you better yourself. Your child will also benefit from their own therapeutic experience, including substance use prevention services, bonding and reunification assistance, field trips and after school tutoring. They’ll also work with you and the Department of Family and Children Services to reunite your family, depending on your situation.
Their family services have so many great elements. But one of my favorites is their program for pregnant and postpartum women. This track offers similar interventions as others while including connections to medical and psychiatric care, home visits, transportation assistance, parenting coaching and new parent education.
