About Homeward Bound Dallas Outpatient

Homeward Bound is a nonprofit behavioral health care provider that's been around since 1980. They serve clients across Texas. One of their outpatient facilities is in Dallas. Here, they provide both mental health and substance abuse treatments.

They accept private insurance including Amerigroup, El Paso First, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Molina. Certain programs accept Medicaid, but not Medicare.

The outpatient program gives you access to counseling, peer support, and education so that you can recover and move forward in your journey. You'll learn about addiction and learn how to develop healthy coping skills. you'll also be introduced to a 12 Step program.

Treatments can range in length but tend to last between three to four months. This averages out to about 14 group sessions and six private therapy appointments. During this program, you'll go from intensive to a more supportive phase. You might complete the program sooner depending on your progress. The program has services that are specific for substance abuse and ones that are specific to mental health concerns.

Mental health treatments are done by qualified mental health professionals to help you reach your goals. This may include finding housing or employment, medication management, therapy, and learning the skills to become healthy. They can treat major depressive disorder, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, along with substance use disorders.

Homeward Bound works with courts and court programs including programs that divert clients out of jail and provide treatment alternatives to incarceration.
