About Home of Grace for Women

Home of Grace for Women in Eight Mile, Alabama, is a non-denominational Christian drug and alcohol recovery program. There is no proselytizing or forced participation in any activities. Instead, participants are encouraged to build a strong Christian faith as a way to deal with addiction and other life challenges. Hope of Grace is not a medical facility and does not accept insurance coverage.

They provide a 12 week recovery program that includes private and group counseling sessions, Bible studies and devotionals, recreational and art activities, and 12 step meetings. Home of Grace creates a warm and comforting environment for women to feel comfortable sharing their stories. The program is designed specifically for the unique needs and challenges that women face when recovering from substance abuse.

Women will sleep in dorm style bedrooms that have single beds and enough wardrobe and closet space for each resident. I like that they promote family reconciliation by offering resources to help residents rebuild trust with their family members. They offer family therapy to help mend relationships and reintegrate each woman back into the home.

Participants have access to counseling, assertiveness training, feelings groups and more. These groups are led by experienced addiction counselors or volunteer counselors. A teacher is on site to help those who haven't completed High School. They will prepare you for your GED and can also offer refresher courses.

They can help you prepare for GED classes if you’ve not completed high school. You can still benefit from their refresher courses tailored to your specific level. You can even further your education by attending college while residing on campus as a graduate.

You can remain at the campus as a graduate after the 12 week recovery period if you don’t have a family or job to return to. At the same time, you can seek employment via vocational rehabilitation and their job training partnerships center. This better prepares you to reenter society as a productive citizen.

Residents are able to grow and heal spiritually through various opportunities for reflection and faith exploration. Staff will provide resources and guidance to help women strengthen their faith.
