About Hittle House
The Hittle House was a treatment program for boys aged 8-18. They provided mental health trauma treatment and addressed sexual issues such as pornography addiction, internet sex crimes, and sexual abuse. They had residential and outpatient services available to youths.
The Hittle House was founded in 2007 to honor the founders’ dad. It was licensed and certified by the Ohio Department of Youth Services and the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. They are currently closed.
A Variety of Treatment Options for Youth
I was impressed by the wide range of services Hittle House had available. They provided daily group therapy and individual counseling twice a week. They also had family therapy, which helped solve conflicts and improve communication.
They also had psychiatric services and medication management to address any mental health disorders. The whole treatment system was trauma informed because that can be a root of these issues.
The Hittle House also provided school services, educational groups and relapse prevention. I like that they also had holistic options like yoga, relaxation, creative arts and music, and even martial arts therapy.
Even though they’re closed, there are other centers nearby that can assist you.
