About Hina Mauka

Serving the community of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Hina Mauka Kaneohe offers addiction treatment and ongoing support programs for adults, teens, and families. Providing residential treatment, various outpatient care (OP), and psychiatric services, they treat substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. A specialized therapeutic community treatment program, based on traditional Hawaiian culture and values, helps incarcerated women heal from addiction. School-based teen outpatient programs are available at 20 middle schools and high schools throughout O’ahu and Kaua’i.

There are three tracks available for individuals needing residential treatment. Track one is for substance abuse, track two is for dual diagnosis, and track three is for people involved with the criminal justice system. You’ll participate in treatment seven days a week with at least 24 hours of group sessions per week. You’ll also receive one hour of individual treatment per week with psychoeducational classes.

They also have a wide range of amenities. Recreation and leisure activities and group process sessions will be part of the programming. One thing I like about this facility is that they provide transportation for any medical care or community services you might need while in treatment.

The day treatment outpatient programs also have three tracks. The day programs are a full week of structured treatment sessions that have the same components of residential treatment. The main difference is that you will live at home, instead of the facility. The standard outpatient programs offer between one and 15 hours of treatment per week based on your individualized needs.

People seem to love the treatment programs at Hina Mauka Kaneohe saying that the staff here saved their lives. Other people said this is the best drug treatment center in Hawaii.
