About Heritage Schools
Elevate Academy is The Heritage Community’s residential program for teens between 13-17 who are struggling with their mental and behavioral health. Heritage is a nonprofit organization with a campus in Provo, Utah. They serve teens who have mood and anxiety disorders like OCD, PTSD, major depressive disorder, and bipolar I disorder. These teens often have unhealthy coping strategies as a result of trauma and attachment issues including substance use or other addictions, school avoidance, self harm, aggression, unhealthy relationships, and disordered eating.
Elevate Academy empowers students to heal and begin a journey of self-discovery and growth on their campus that has 19 acres. Elevate uses the ARC framework to address trauma in teens. This approach focuses on nurturing healthy attachments that will help teens gain self-regulation skills so they can be successful once they leave the campus.
Youths who have medical issues that require full-time supervision, show sexual predatory behaviors, have been involved in a gang, have an IQ lower than 80, or experience psychosis may not be accepted into their curricula.
To enroll your child, you’ll begin the process online. Then you’ll set up a campus tour either in person or virtually. If you choose to move forward, staff will schedule your child’s enrollment date. The paperwork to enroll generally takes about a week.
Each student will have coaching and daily care that is suited to their stage of recovery.
Amenities include an indoor swimming pool, rock climbing wall, indoor sports court and gym, and plenty of comfortable rec and lounge spaces. You can work with horses, hike, or take bike trips. The classroom is staffed by certified special education teachers. Their clinical classroom is enjoyable for students and helps students smoothly adjust back to their home school once they leave Heritage.
